Many times alumni or parents want to provide a contribution that will provide educational/charitable support to a specific chapters.  These donations go into "Designated Funds". 

Designated funds are a good way to establish annual scholarships for a chapter, to provide grants for continued educational and leadership development opportunities, and to provide support to infrastructure that is directly related to education.

Designated Funds also play a big part in the Book Scholarship Program.  This program recruits incoming students through Book Scholarships to consider restarting an AKL Chapter.  While there is no requirement for the recipients to join it provides them the opportunity to learn about the expansion effort and be involved if they choose to.
