|AKL Announces New Online Education Program - Buttonwood|
The Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda is excited to announce a new online education opportunity that will be available to all undergraduate members at no extra cost starting August 2012. The program is called Buttonwood and is administered by Everfi, Inc, the same company that provides GreekLifeEdu. This program is a turnkey way to empower AKL members with the life skills to successfully manage their finances and loan management responsibilities while in school and beyond, and to minimize dropout and student loan defaults through education and behavior change.
AKL members can receive two levels of Certification as they progress through the course. Members also have access to a budget planning tool and ButtonwoodLife, an interactive virtual simulation to weigh the consequences of their financial decisions. Jeremy Slivinski, the Fraternity's Executive Director says, "Many times our members and volunteers have suggested that programs providing personal financial management skills would be very beneficial. When the opportunity presented itself to package this program with our already successful GreekLifeEdu program we invested in the opportunity."
The Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda prides itself in providing top level educational opportunities for its members. These opportunities assist our membership in meeting the responsibilities of life as identified in our Creed and Ritual. We are excited to be adding this new piece to our program.
