The Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) takes the safety and welfare of its members seriously. In an effort to provide a safe and productive fraternity experience, polices and procedures have been set in place for our members and their guests to follow.
Risk Management
Alpha Kappa Lambda belongs to a consortium of 47 fraternity and sorority national organizations called the "Fraternal Information & Programming Group" (FIPG).
AKL's risk management program is based on FIPG policy, which is not an insurance policy, but a comprehensive list of "provisions which follow and apply to all fraternity entities and all levels of fraternity membership."
The mission of FIPG is to make your son's experience in Alpha Kappa Lambda a safer one. FIPG promotes sound risk management policies and practices and is the leading resource of risk management education, programming and information for all aspects of Greek life.
Insurance
The Fraternity provides liability insurance coverage for its members and alumni volunteers through FRMT, Ltd.
Volunteers and undergraduate chapter officers are covered by a "directors & officers policy" and all undergraduate members are covered by a "Membership Accident Protection Program" (MAPP).
