PREPARING FOR AKL'S FUTURE

Alpha Kappa Lambda is a fraternity rich with tradition - a tradition of brotherhood, academic excellence, leadership development and high character.

Since its founding in 1914, AKL has been committed to the continued enrichment of its members, both collegiate and alumni. As AKL approaches its 100th anniversary, the Foundation faces the future with confidence and a clear sense of its mission: to support the educational and philanthropic endeavors of the Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda.

The 1907 Society – Reconnect with the Bonds of Brotherhood; launched in 2006, is an eight year campaign to strengthen the educational and philanthropic endeavors of Alpha Kappa Lambda for the second century and beyond. The goal of the campaign is to raise $2,500,000 by the Fraternity's centennial in 2014.

The success of the 1907 Society campaign is essential if Alpha Kappa Lambda is to sustain its proud heritage and meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

The AKL Education Foundation created the Endowment Fund to provide long-term financial security for the Fraternity. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are not spent but invested. Interest earned on the investment will be allocated to:

• Intensify programs to train and assist those collegiate and alumni members who graciously give their time to forward the high standards and goals of our Fraternity.
• Increase funds of existing scholarships and establish new scholarships to assist our collegiate and alumni members as they continue and further their educational opportunities.
• Aggressively strengthen AKL's financial position through significant increases to the endowment.

COMMITTING TO THE FUTURE

The 1907 Society Endowment Campaign will succeed if each brother carefully weighs what Alpha Kappa Lambda has meant to him personally; what AKL has contributed to his development; how his life has been enriched through brotherhood and what AKL has the potential yet to achieve.

The Foundation invites brothers and friends to help build a strong endowment for AKL's future. Every gift to the campaign is important. The following are ways to contribute significantly to the 1907 Society Endowment Campaign:

• Make a gift of cash or securities
• Make a pledge
• Make a bequest through a will
• Add a codicil to a will
• Name the Foundation the beneficiary of a life insurance policy
• Set up a trust

Donations, gifts and bequests to the Foundation are tax-deductible as allowed by law, All gifts, pledges and planned gifts received through June 30, 2014 will be counted toward the campaign goal of $2,500,000.

SUSTAINING AKL'S MOMENTUM

Alpha Kappa Lambda's mission for the future is built upon the tradition of excellence established by its eleven Founders. Alpha Kappa Lambda brothers have been building on that vision for nine decades. The 1907 Society Endowment Fund is AKL's "faith" and "hope" fund - faith in the Five Ideals of Alpha Kappa Lambda and hope for its future growth.
